Congratulations to Kettersonians graduating in 2024!
Katie Talbott (Ph.D.)
Katie entered the Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior doctoral program in August 2017. Her research in the Ketterson lab combines themes and techniques from ecoimmunology and behavioral ecology to investigate the impact of avian malaria parasites on songbird reproductive physiology and behavior. Dr. Katie is now a postdoctoral researcher for the University of Memphis, where she studies population and sex-based variation in immune responses of house finches to the recently emerged bacterium Mycoplasma gallisepticum. See Katie’s website for more information.
Ariel Tysver (B.S.)
Ariel was a pre-veterinary medicine student that came to us in 2022. She worked on various projects with Ketterson lab researchers before conducting her senior thesis, which investigated the impact of artificial light at night (ALAN) on gastrointestinal parasite shedding in juncos, as well as the impact of ALAN on junco white blood cell composition. For her senior thesis, she recieved the 2024 Excellence in Undergraduate Thesis Research in Animal Behavior award from IU's Program in Animal Behavior. Ariel is now a student at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. See Ariel’s profile for more information.
